Today is my 7th day here. I have not been able to meet anyone. I was not present at the hearing of the special CBI court on Babri Masjid case. I have not spoken to anyone on the telephone as well. But I have been following television news,” tweeted the senior BJP leader.
"I watched Hathras incident. First I thought not to speak about it as you (Yogi Adityanath) must be handling the situation deftly. But the way police have locked the victim's family offers various scope for debate and apprehension," said Bharti in a series of tweets.
She further said, "I don’t know of any rule that prohibits the family of a victim if a SIT probe is going on. This will raise questions over the SIT probe only. The daughter belonged to a Dalit family. Police hurriedly conducted her last rites and now the family has been locked down”.
The BJP leader urged the UP chief minister to allow the media to talk to the family of the victim. "Your image as CM is very clean. I would request you to allow media personnel and politicians, including those from the Opposition to meet the family,” she said adding, "I am senior to you in the party and I am also like your elder sister. I urge you to not dismiss my suggestions.”
The BJP leader alluded to the recent groundbreaking ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and said, "We are committed to bring Ram Rajya back in the country. But, the UP police’s action in the case is tarnishing your image besides, the image of UP and the BJP government at the Centre".
"I am restless in the Corona ward. Had I not been a Covid positive, I would have visited the family members of the victim in Hathras. After I get released from here, I will definitely meet the family members,” said Bharti.
